A decade and one completed ✅Today I celebrate ELEVEN whole years in Barclays UK which is wild 🤪Last year I created a video with some of my highlights over the last decade to celebrate, this year I’ve decided to share some of my learns 👀🔑 Find your purpose, what drives you, what gets you out of bed in the morning - if your role doesn’t align to this, find something in the business that does 👀🔑 Surround yourself the right people, the people that you aspire to be, those that will fill your cup without a question 🫶🏾🔑 The only person you need to overcome, is yourself.. challenge yourself, learn to be comfortable with moments of uncomfortability 📈🔑 There is no linear roadmap to defining your career, take every opportunity as an opportunity to learn or develop yourself 🤌🏾🔑 Your career path is your own and no one else’s - avoid comparing your success with others 🤷🏾♀️🔑 Enjoy the ride, we spend MOST of our life’s in the world of work and there is NOTHING I could think of worst than if you spend that time hating what you do.. 🙃🥲 and really it comes back to my first point, find your purpose, what drives you.. the rest will follow 🙏🏾

Reached the first 30 days mark with the new gig as Director of Ops with Golden Standard Enterprises (GSE). This has been an excellent opportunity for me and here are some things I've learned after going through in depth job search to land the 'right role'. - If culture and values are important to you, make that an important factor during the interview process and continue stressing that when starting. It's been amazing how much GSE has valued that not only to me but all employees. - The 30/60/90 split exists for a reason. Don't come in and 'kick the doors open' like its the wild west. Identify with your leader/owner what needs to be prioritized within those time frames and be sure ONLY those items are being completed. Yes its tough to look ahead, but focusing on the NOW items will help the business grow in the future. - Listen/Learn/Lead is super important for leadership roles, especially in small businesses, but should apply for all types. Take time to listen to everyone, learn about how the business is operating and what could help improve the business, and then take the lead in improving and developing the staff to reach those goals. - Finally, enjoy the ride! It's been very busy and a few times stressful, but I've enjoyed the ride and experience, taking things in, and knowing everything will fall into place. Be patient with everyone and continue to build relationships and learn how to communicate day-day. Everything will pay off in the long run!I'm still here to support those in my network looking for that 'key role' and also those who have started out recently. Curious to read any other experiences that are similar or different and we can help others smoothly transition!!😎

Last night was SME Bank Employee Appreciation Dinner & Employee Loyalty Award. The theme was Back to School and somehow it felt like going back to high school. Everyone in uniform looking like they’re in senior year and is having a good time seeing colleagues from other departments and branches. It was so much fun!I was one of the recipients for the Employee Loyalty Award - Who knew, serving for a Company for 11 years seems like just yesterday. Some of the colleagues were impressed on how some other colleagues can stay loyal for as long as 25 years. As a Millenial, I’ve had the opportunity to serve leaders from the Boomers, Gen X and the Millenials as well. Different style of leadership and visions, has given me the opportunity to learn and challenges to grow. These opportunities plus the handsome reward that I used to get, contributed to me being loyal. There’re always pros and cons of being loyal. It is up to us to define our career path and goals. But now, I’m actively looking for new career opportunities. Slide into my DM if you know/have any opening ;)How long have u been working with the current employer?

👏🏽 what it really takes to feel fulfilment in your career..I'm thrilled to take a moment to shine a light on the incredible team I have the privilege of working alongside at Paragon. While I'm usually one to keep things low-key, this time calls for an exception.👉🏽 The past year has been a true rollercoaster, and I couldn't be prouder of the journey we've taken together.☝🏽 Let's face it, the recruitment landscape hasn't been:🏃🏽♂️ a walk in the park, and we're not alone in that experience. We've weathered our fair share of challenges and celebrated some monumental wins. But what's been truly remarkable is the strength we've shown in the face of adversity."Why the tough times?" you may wonder.💭 Contrary to the misconception that we're all rolling around in $100 bills 💸 because of all the vacancies out there, this for us is pretty much like a recession, since we have had a record number of vacancies, while also having so few candidates readily available to work with.Nonetheless, Paragon has not only stood its ground but soared above it on both the West and East Coasts.👏🏽 There's a handful of factors that have fuelled our success:🧠 Values Above All: Paragon being recognised as one of the elite insurance recruitment firms in the industry where ethics, morals and integrity mean more than "doing a deal", if it's not right for the client or candidate, we flag it...🌟 Knowledge is Power: Our industry knowledge and networks are deep, wide & genuine.👥 Listening Leads to Success: Our ability to listen to client/candidate requests and work within the given parameters to gain a successful outcome.👀 Trust in Reputation: Our reputation in the industry with professionals who recognise that we will be beneficial to them as their Recruiter of choice to unearth the right role for them, many roles we have are exclusive and go unadvertised.🙌🏽 Unlocking Opportunities: The feedback from clients and professionals alike has exceeded our wildest expectations. We're humbled to be seen as a true "value-add" in the journey of career growth.🤝 A-Team: The team here at Paragon, it really is "simply the best".H2 of 2023 has already started off incredibly well, and we are confident that this will continue, we also hope to add to our team in the coming months.Thank you to the incredible Paragon family for making each day a testament to what fulfillment and resilience truly mean!! 💥 📍Follow us to stay updated on exciting new job roles, industry insights, career advice and much more. ✔️Follow #Paragoncareers📧info@paragonrecruitment.com.au#recruiters #peopleandculture #dreamjob #peoplefirst#Careergoals #Insurancerecruitment #innovation

Zzzzzz...👂 Heard of the Great Job Shuffle? 🐝 ⁉ Some see it as freedom, others as fickleness... 🤷♀️ The decision to job hop is individual and depends on your career goals, priorities, and risk tolerance. 🐿 Before making a move, carefully weigh the potential benefits and risks against your specific circ*mstances. 🐰 ⚖ Remember, transparency is key. If you're applying for new roles, address your job hopping history honestly and highlight the value you gained from each experience. 🤓 Will YOU switch jobs this year?
