Why most often, laterals hired feel uneasy, leading to customer escalation? Have you ever thought of providing the right inputs to newly hired laterals especially the experienced people. Are you tired of applying for a job that sounds perfect, only to find out the duties are completely different? As a job seeker, it's very frustrating to see "customer service representative" in the job title, only to find out the role is more administrative or sales-based. Let's be honest, customer service, at least to me, and based on actual customer service jobs I've had, implies answering phones in a contact center environment. Unfortunately, some positions with this title are glorified sales positions. Some are administrative assistant roles. And still others with the title "customer service representative" are nothing more than counter cashier positions in an in-person retail environment. How utterly crazy and disingenuous.And you can't tell me "the definition has evolved to fit the demands of the marketplace, etc., etc.," In my opinion, companies are trying to 1) get one person to do the work of two people so they won't have to pay as much in salary and 2) trying to attract people to apply for a position who otherwise wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole.It's time for companies to be more truthful when advertising for a job. Accurately and honestly match job titles with job duties and give job seekers the transparency and respect they deserve.

Job Offer Careers With Us shopper-post.comEmployee Beware!If you happen to see a job listing as a Secret Shopper for Shopper Post LLC (https://lnkd.in/g6mjyxut), DO NOT apply!I started working for them as an Independent contractor in June 2023. In July of 2023 (after my last review of an item) I started making inquiries about when I would get the salary I signed up for (it was a designated amount on a monthly schedule). I emailed my supervisor 3 times, I emailed the careers distro once, and never got a single reply. I tried calling the contact number in the US and "the call cannot be completed as the called party is temporarily unavailable). Meaning: I've never been paid by Shopper Post LLC.I contacted BOLI on the issue and their response was (to paraphrase): "Good Luck with that."I submitted an inquiry to the Federal Labor site and still awaiting a response on that.The TL;DR: I've learned my lesson and I am avidly avoiding any employment opportunities where "independent contractor" is mentioned. Especially, in the "remote" or "work from home" spaces.
